I don't like Kanye, I don't like his songs, I don't like his face, I don't like that he sings through an autotuner, I didn't like him on the cover of Rolling Stone with a crown of thorns on his head over the headline Hip Hop Messiah, I didn't like that stupid towel haning from his back pocket, I didn't like the song he "sang" on idol tonight, basically I don't like anything about him. And to me his only decent song was gold digger, and I really only like the parts of gold digger where Kanye isn't rapping, basically it would be a better song if he wasn't on it and there was just silence in his parts.
So how's that.

PS - Was glad to see Kelly. In the whole eight year history of the show there have been a grand total of two singers I liked from American Idol enough to listen to when I wasn't watching the show, Kelly Clarkson, and I liked Clay but only when he sang Bridge Over Troubled Water.
ReplyDeleteI fast forwarded through him. I love Kelly. I actually bought two of Clay's cds. But I also liked Daughtry and bought his cd as well. I must admit, I played it twice...maybe.
ReplyDeleteI watched Oprah when she had Kanye on and everyone acted like he was some kind of a king. As a person he was likable and I thought he was going to be a really good performer, but no...... Not my kind of a feel at all.
ReplyDeleteI did not watch the season that Clay was on, so I never had any kind of a feel for him. I loved Kelly on the first Idol and she was really good tonight as well.

ReplyDeleteI know my mom likes Carrie Underwood. Carrie can sing, but I don't like that kind of country. I like the old, gutbucket, whiskey and tobacco country, I don't like the new sugary watered down barely different from pop and rock country. I know I'm in a minority on that, but I don't like it.
And yeah Di, I liked Kanye too, until he said he was better than the Beatles. Get over yourself, you don't sing and you can't even play an instrument, you're not the Beatles.
ReplyDeleteOK... yes I agree Kanye (what kind of name is that?) was a joke in my opinion, though I will admit I've never even heard of him...I know Mel is having a heart attack...but I hate that kind of music as a general rule, and he was just not good....as for Kelly, I know everyone likes her and I will admit she sounded REALLY good tonight, but I just don't think that much about her one way or another. I did not see season one, so maybe that is why. I didn't see when Clay was on either. I think his voice is a stun, but he bugs me for some reason. Now Carrie, come on John, haha, she is good no matter what....and considering she has both outsold and won several more awards (including grammys not just CMA's) then Kelly who has been at it longer proves at least that I am hardly alone in thinking she is a total wonder...She is the best thing that has come out of American Idol and even Simon doesn't argue it...I liked Daughtry right from the beginning on AI, his voice is a STUN, but as a general rule (there are some exceptions, Beatles, Stones, old stuff) I don't like rock and roll music or rockers in general so I would never buy his stuff...and I think that about covers it all....
ReplyDeleteI think kanyes a jerk in real life... he was the dork that said "George Bush hates black people!!" lol. but I don't care. I like him. Stronger is one of the best songs ever to get ready to. Gold digger is amazing. And whenever pretty much any of his songs comes on at a club people are pushing each other to get on the dance floor. Back me up here Jess! Then again, I like all that Lil Wayne, TI, T Pain kinda music that John hates. Again, Jess will back me up. As for the rest of them.. Kelly Clarkson is fantastic. Very talented. Clay was a clown, but he has a nice voice. I love Daughtry. I even like Kellie Picklers songs. I HATED her when she was on the show, but I like her now. And that other country guy, Josh something? I like him too. But Chuck, talent wise, nobody even touches Carrie Underwood. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Clay bugs me, too. Maybe watching the show when the person is on makes a difference. I did watch the first season and I love Kelly. Kanye is so full of himself! Sorry he is not on the level he thinks he is. He's an artist some people love and he is popular in his niche, but he is not the leader he THINKS he is.
ReplyDeleteAnd I too hated Pickles when she was on the show, but she is OK now. And I LOVE Daughtry! He is the only one I have ever bought a CD of from the show and I love it. I really like Carrie. She is a stun, but I did not watch the year she won.
