YAY!!!!!

Well, that's it....another season has come to an end. I do believe America got it right tonight. Scotty was just a stun ALL season long. And I think it really stuck out tonight when he sang with super star Tim McGraw and held his own. He did not pale in comparison. And I am sorry, Lauren sounded and looked soo bad compared to super star Carrie. Just IS NOT in the same league. She "MIGHT" be there someday, but personally I doubt it. She didn't look good tonight either which is kind of weird as she has been looking like a stun recently.

Now having said all that I just have to say...."What in the world was up with the whole Lady GAGA thing?? I found that VERY offensive and not appropriate at all for American Idol. I also found JLo offensive. With a close up on her rear end gyrating....WHY and I repeat WHY is that necessary??? They could have cut the show down to an hour and elimiated most of those uneccesary and ridiculous performances. I just don't get it. Steven Tyler's voice is a STUN, but he has grown old for me too. Why must he ALWAYS be out there and shocking...Is he incapable of a normal feel EVER??? I did enjoy his performance tonight though.

Oh well, I will now eliminate Lauren from the side and let Scotty take his first place.

ANNOYED

I am soo afraid now that Lauren is going to take it all....it just annoys me to no end for some reason. The judges set it up for her to win. A girl hasn't won in a while, and a song for the moms? Come on....it will reel them in. I just wanted to slap Steve Tyler for some reason. What in the world was that? I felt like he was just an ass to Scotty....For the first time he has a DEFINITE opinion, and it is in the final and hands down for Lauren. Never mind that Scotty has consistently beat her all season, suddenly she has arrived and is the queen of the whole thing. Never mind that she is immature and just not really ready for the whole thing, and stands there and grins somewhat goffy most of the time. Never mind that there has been MANY songs she just didn't pull it off and could have easily been eliminated. Never mind that she was actually in the bottom 3 2 different times. Scotty was REALLY GOOD every single time. I guess the bottom line is he will do sooo well rather or not he wins. The win will really help her. But it doesn't make it more fair. These things annoy me, and it annoys me that it does even more. How ridiculous. I did like her final song, but I loved his....I would buy his and listen to it over and over, and hers, while I did like it, it did not grab me the way his did. Oh well, guess that is it....I think Lauren has locked it up.

Yay!

Love Lauren and Scotty in the finale! Bye Bye Haley!

Mom, totally agree on her face. It took her a GOOD five seconds to recover, and Lauren had to practically beg for a hug. She was truly shocked. Lol. I'm obviously twisted, because I loved it.

I really don't even care who wins now, although I'm still Team Scotty.

AMERICA GOT IT RIGHT!

Can ya stand it?? I was almost giddy, haha....Did you see her face?? It took her a few minutes to recover. She could hardly believe it. And then when she was singing her final song and she was out in the auidence, she says sooo smartly, "You haven't seen the last of this, for sure!" She is just so full of herself. Even when they were all 3 standing there waiting, Scotty and Lauren looked hysterical, nervous, and serious. She was smiling and acting sooo confidenct. It was soo annoying. Wheeeeeee doogggies!! lol Welp, I am off to REMOVE Haley from the side. FINALLY America got it right!!! It is what I said, "It's NOT all about singing, America has got to LIKE you too!"

Team Scotty!!

Scotty sealed it up for me tonight.. as our pal Randy Jackson loves to say, he's in it to win it! He is so adorable, and a stun. He has the charm, talent, and overall charisma it takes to win.

Although, I wouldn't be disappointed if Lauren wins.. she's got such a pretty voice and in my opinion she rocked I Hope You Dance. However, I think I agree with everyone else that she just has some growing up and maturing to do. But she is extremely likeable. Scotty will record and we'll hear him on the radio either way, so it doesn't really matter if he technically wins or not. And I wouldn't mind seeing Lauren win.

If Haley makes it, however, I'll be mad. She does have a good voice, but her attitude is so annoying. I'm over her. I thought her first song was good, her second was poop, and her third was great. But, while she hit the notes perfectly, I don't think she sang You Oughta Know with the passionate anger that the song called for. She was practically smiling. She just bugs me and I hope she goes.

Nothing would shock me at this point.

Is Scotty a King or What?????????

I LOVED the show tonight!  Sooooooo entertaining!!!!  Everything I have said and thought about Haley culminated in tonight's performance.  She is a brat who thinks she is great.  Her last song was flat out NOT good.  She was so out of sync on it that it wasn't even funny.  Her first song was pretty good, but on the second....no.  She is no Stevie Nicks.  She is so full of herself that she ruins the whole feel.  Greg summed it up perfectly.  She doesn't have the heart the other two do.  He has barely watched the show this year, but he watched most of it last night and that was his feel.  Totally agree with you on Lauren, Deb.  She keeps getting better and better each week.  She will be an entertainer no doubt.  I just don't think she is quite ready.  She is just not consistent enough.  Obviously, in my book, Scotty is an orbital stun.  Nothing would surprise me on the show tonight.  I HOPE  Haley is off, but I don't feel too confident that it will happen.  I had actually thought that the finale would be Pia and Scotty.

COULD BE ANYONE!!!!

Well I can honestly say I have NO IDEA what might happen after tonight. They can ALL sing....they were all good....and they could ALL go home. It really is a roll of the dice. But for me, Scotty is still hands down my favorite all the way around. I love his voice, I love his feel, I love the way he sings a song and tells a story. He is just sooo good. Personally, I still feel, while she has drastically improved, Lauren is just not there. She has a good voice, but I just don't think she is it. Her first song in my opinion paled to Faith Hill's version. The one that Steven had as the best of the round was a NO WAY she beat Scotty in that round, and her final one was really good, but again not the best. Haley was really good too. REALLY good. But I dislike her so it doesn't really matter. I just want to slap her. I don't like the way she acts AT ALL....I am really hoping I am not the only one. America needs to vote her off. OK, IF I was pressed to the wall and had to venture a guess I would say, Haley and Scotty in the finale. But I really want it to be Lauren and Scotty, with Scotty winning. One more week!!

POOR JAMES

Well I think everyone has already chewed this, but I just still can't believe it!! What in the world was that??!? How on earth Haley is in (or even Lauren) and James is out is just sooo ridiculous I can hardly stand it. I do believe again if they called America for an immediate re vote it wouldn't be the case. It is just soo weird. EVERYONE I talked to and everything I read had Haley as a hated dog. How did she get in? I just wanted to smack her for some reason. Her swirling head was sooo annoying. And poor James. I felt soo bad for him. I think he would have appreciated it the most getting to go back to his town in style. I just wanted to cry. Oh well, it is what it is I guess and now I feel like SURELY Scotty is a complete shoe TO WIN it all now. I guess I will SADLY remove James from the side.... : (

Haley cooked herself.

Well, Haley took a wild, bloody bite out of the hand that's been feeding her. She's going home. Bottom line, her first song sucked. Not only was the song choice bad, she just didn't sing it that well. She was definitely screaming at the end. Her second song was awesome. In fact, it could have redeemed her. But her indignant, annoying attitude is what slammed the nail in the coffin. Was she dead serious? I wanted to smack her. Quit arguing, rolling your eyes, and making borderline sarcastic comments. It is not going to go over well with America. I also didn't like the way the judges handled it.. have some back bone and stick to what you're saying. "Sorry we were so hard on you.." Really? Ridiculous. It's moments like that where I miss Simon the most. He would have wiped that annoying look right off her face with just the right scathing quip. And them having to give her a standing ovation and act like she was the greatest performer of all time on her second one was mildly repulsive.

So how was that?? And you KNOW I've been a huge Haley fan from day one. If she lost me for a fan, I have a feeling she lost countless others as well.

Scotty's song choice on his first one was so perfect I almost couldn't stand it. LOVED it. I didn't love his second one, but it doesn't matter. That's how good his first one was.

James really redeemed himself tonight. Liked both of his performances.

I also really liked Lauren's performances, but she hasn't WOW'ed me in awhile. She needs to step it up.

As for Lady Gaga... I have such mixed feelings about her. I love her songs, I must admit. I listened to her first CD exclusively for months on end. However, I find her constant political messages annoying (She is extremely liberal and loud)... Not just because I disagree with her, but because she's a pop star, not a politician. Plus, she's just not smart. Stick to singing Bad Romance and Poker Face and shut up. I really don't care one way or another about her crazy, freak costumes. It doesn't shock me at all anymore. I agree she was way too much for Scotty and James, lol. The rest of her advice was ok, and really not any worse than any of the other "mentors" they have. Personally, 98% of the time the mentors are pointless anyway. At least Lady Gaga was somewhat entertaining.

Final prediction - Haley cooked herself and will be sent galloping home with a swift kick.

WHO KNOWS??

Well this is it...THE biggest night before the final...Going to their home towns is BIG....Here is what I thought. They all did pretty well....HOWEVER Scotty AGAIN was just orbital. I LOVED LOVED LOVED his first song....sooo good. And the perfect song to sing right now. And the second was also very good. Not orbital like the first, but entertaining and good. Next would be James. Both of his were REALLY REALLY good. Thoroughly entertained me. Lauren was good. Some of her better ones. Connected much better to the music. However, her first one sooo paled in comparison to the mighty Martina McBride that it was somewhat ruined for me. I enjoyed her second one more if for no other reason than she FINALLY got into the song pretty well. She continues to be just immature to me. And Haley??? First song, bottom line she WAS screaming. It wasn't good. But more importantly I didn't like the way she took the criticism....like a BIG baby. Angry and pissed. It didn't do her any favors to come off this way. America has to LIKE you in addition to liking your voice. She can off like a big old B _ _ _ _!! Her second song was REALLY good, but I think she could of done it better, but she was too pissed off. It definitely was NOT the standing ovation they gave her. I think she has a bad need to be "fluffed" and they were trying to give it to her. If she can't be the big cheese of the night she is annoyed. And finally, WHAT in the name of heaven was that Lady GAGA....It is not just that she looks like a freak (which of course she does) she was just trashy I thought. She totally truly embarrassed Scotty you could tell. I think she kind of embarrassed James too. Sooo, WHO goes home tonight?? I honestly have no idea....I think if it were me based on last night it would be Haley. I think she just chopped off her own foot with her temper tantrum. But I think it might be Lauren too. It is hard to say, and truthfully I can't wait to find out!

it was about time.

I'm glad Jacob is gone. Well over due.

I also thought the cooking thing was dumb. Really? Who cares. And of course the southern, borderline chubby one would win. Lol. I do love her though!

I liked JLOs performance.. very high energy, sort of Britney Spears- esque. No one does that kind of a performance quite like Brit though. But it was good. Very entertaining. Also enjoyed Lady Antebellums performance... haven't heard that song yet, and I liked it. But then, I like all their songs! I heard a rumor that Lady Gaga is the mentor next week?? Should be interesting if nothing else.

It's a wild card for me from here on out. I have no idea who will go next! I think it will depend 100% on their performances next week. Whoever has an off week will go. I'm finally to the point where I like everybody, and will be sad to see any of them go.

Thursday, May 5, 2011

FINALLY!!

Well FINALLY.....I thought tonights show was good, but truthfully what was that cooking thing? Pointless, stupid, and boring come to mind. I thought JLo was a stun. What is she, Miss Everything???

I wasn't surprised at anything. It was pretty much how I had seen it the night before too. Lauren just flat out blew it in Unchained Melody. And Jacob was a big NOOOOO!!

So another bites the dust. I don't want Haley to win. She is pretty good, but I just don't see her as the idol. Don't think I see James as it either. And personally, unless something major happens, Lauren will go next.

OK, FINALLY removing Jacob from the side. At least he didn't go out bawlin!!

My take.

Jacob - I just don't get it. I thought he was an asinine idiot on the first one. Horrid. The second one was sort of better. In my opinion he sticks out like a glaring, sore, red, inflamed thumb as the worst one. I don't know what I'll do if he doesn't go home tonight.

Scotty - Stun. Especially the second one.

Lauren - I thought she did the first one really well. The second one however... was iffy. I was excited for her to do Unchained Melody, because she has the kind of voice that should be able to pull it off. But she just fell short. I wanted so much more. She didn't even do the big "I NEEEEEEEEED your love" note that could have been really good. Hello? It's the most famous/best part of the song! She just blew it off like it didn't exist! Kind of a fail. She did look cute though. I really, really wish I could pull off that hair color. It's my fave. Sadly, it just makes me look washed out and horrid.

James - I didn't really like either of his songs. Such a shocker after last weeks stuns. I practically wanted to fast forward him.

Haley - LOVED. She was the best of the night, in my opinion. I thought the judges were way harsh on her first one.. The song wasn't the best, and it was kind of weird to pick an unknown song, but she sang it really well. But it wouldn't have mattered if she had completely sucked at that one, because she NAILED the second one. Best performance of the night, easily. Loved the song, loved how she sang it. She shot herself above James with that number.

If Scotty wants to win, he's got to do something other than country next week. He's already won over the country fans. I was talking to a girl last week and she was talking about how she doesn't want Scotty to win and doesn't think he's that great. She said, "He has a good voice, but it's SO country, and I'm not into country at all." I'm afraid if he doesn't at least try to appeal to the non-country lovers, he'll lose. Lauren is country, but she's branched out more times than Scotty has, and has more of a country/pop feel.

The night......

My take on the night.

James - I didn't really think the first song was anything great and certainly not on the soaring level the judges had it on.  The second song was OK.  He was obviously very emotional on it and it showed.   There were parts of it where you could tell how truly good his voice really is.

Jacob - I thought doing a duet as a solo was just plain weird.  It was a very bizarre choice.  The second song was  really pretty good .

Lauren - Nothing great on the first song.  I really didn't like her on the second one at all. There were some parts of the song she did well, but there were other parts that were just not good.  I really think a big part of it was that she was just too young for the song. She just had a feeling of being detached.  It is the feel I always have on her that she is just not ready.  She did look like a stun on the night. I LOVED her dress on the second song.

Scotty - I loved everything about him on both of the songs.  He should win in my opinion.

Haley - I actually did agree with the judges on the first song.  I think there is a reason that Lady GaGa has never released it.  The second song was REALLY  good.  I would definitely say I thought it was the second best performance of the night

I think Jacob will be going home, but the way things are going it is hard to say.

STUN NIGHT

Well another amazing night!! I was very entertained...VERY!

Here is my take....

James...first song REALLY good, but not nearly as orbital as the judges had it. Second...ORBITAL....It was really good. Even though I too heard when he was off here and there, it didn't really matter. I think for me I LIKE him as a person the best for some reason. Soooo likeable. But I don't know if he is the American Idol for me.

Jacob....first song while sang well, WAY too weird for him. Too much of a different feel. Agreed with Randy. He actually had a mild hand to crotch thing going like some of those guys do. It was a big NOOOOOO in my book. However his second song was actually really good. He sang it well. One of his best. I still think he should go next though.

Scotty.....what is there to say. The guy is orbital. I LOVE LOVE LOVE his voice. Sooo good. Sooo sexy (his voice, not him, he is a newborn) Sooo entertaining. He is the american idol to me.

Lauren.....first song was good, but nothing great in my opinion. She is NOT Carrie and paled in comparison to how she does that song. And the second was butchered literally in my opinion. Some of the notes and places she did REALLY REALLY well, and others she almost ruined. She DID NOT connect with the song. Notice how Scotty is always telling the story of what he is singing, and she rarely if ever does. She did LOOK like a complete STUN tonight in both of her performances. A COMPLETE STUN!! Sooo pretty.

Haley....first song...I felt like the judges were weird on it. I actually kind of liked it. And the second was literally spinning in orbit. She did it REALLY REALLY well and I full on loved it.

Soooo, my opinion is IF they do bottom 3 (which they didn't last week) it woud be Jacob, Lauren and Haley...with the one going home....Jacob. SURELY it is finally over for him. I think on just this night though (not overall) the lineup for me of who entertained me best would be....
1. Scotty
2. Haley (I know ~ shocker!)
3. James
4. Jacob
5. Lauren

So best of the night, again was Scotty. And going home...Jacob

What a Night!

Unreal. Even Jacob pulled it off. I wouldn't be stunned if James goes home and last week I thought he could win it all!

Jacob - Not thrilled with either song, but he sang them both REALLY well.

James - Could have been just me but the first song wasn't that great. Could have fast forwarded if I wasn't watching it live. Second, stun. I just plain love the guy.

Lauren - Always love her. Though I thought she sang Unchained Melody well, I felt like there was a part of the song she left out and I wanted to hear it if that makes sense....

Scotty - Stun. Stun. STUN!

Haley - Love her too. I thought she did the first song well. Was annoyed with the judges. Rising Sun...UNBELIEVEABLE!!

Good bye Casey.

I had a brief moment of hysteria when I thought we were in for another giant shock and Scotty was going to be ejected. So it was just a sigh of relief when it was Casey. It doesn't really matter that I feel he went home a bit too early, because he wasn't going to win anyway. At least I am occasionally entertained by his performances, unlike clown man Jacob.

Mom, I didn't even consider the horrifying possibility of Jacob actually winning until you said it! Stranger things have happened.

Agreed with everyone on the judges. Odd praise (the God like comment was asinine) for some, with annoying critiques for others. Get it together.

Did anyone else notice that Crystal Bowersox finally whitened her teeth?? Good old Hollywood. Much better. Kind of a boring performance though.

I have a feeling Scotty is NOT going to win. I predict the winner is either James or Lauren. Can't really put my finger on why I feel this way, I just do.

WHO on EARTH is voting for Jacob?????

BYE BYE CASEY

Welp another bites the dust. I have to admit I honestly can't believe it wasn't Jacob, but SURELY he is next. Casey I think took it as far as he was going to. As I said, he is a super talented musician, but American Idol? NO....So he might as well go. Jacob or Haley has to be next or I might end up annoyed, and I don't want to be. When Scotty was standing there with Jacob (though notice he did say NOT necessarily the bottom 2)I was sooo tense cuz if it had been Scotty I would have just been burning. I can't wait for him to sing every week and if he is gone, what is the point? And as I've dwelt on it more tonight I decided I might have lied earlier. I do care who wins. It has to be either Scotty or James. If it is Lauren or heaven forbit Haley or even more horrifying Jacob, then the show is truly pointless. I am trying to bear in mind that no matter what Scotty has launched a truly stunning career for sure. J Lo kind of bugged me tonight. She seemed clipped and kind of tense or something. She was border last night as her remarks on Scotty were annoying. You were right Di. OK, well I guess I will officially remove Casey....

btw..did anyone else think Casey's goodbye was a little too over the top. What was that? He literally rolled onto the stage at one point. hahaha

Some dittos, some diff opinions

First of all Di, I so agree on the judges bizarrness. The Godlike comment was weird and unsettling and the critique on James and Jacob's performance was downright annoying. I'm over any tips at this stage of the game. Too little too late.

James - favorite of the night. I love that man and I thought he was REALLY good last night.

Lauren - always love her. Thought she was amazing.

Scotty - have actually grown to love this guy. He was EXTREMELY good last night. The song was a stun.

Haley - Agree with Mel. Love her, but the song didn't do much for her.

Casey - Agree with everyone. Too weird, not my kind of music, over the weird clenched (and yellow) teeth, and weird growls.

Jacob - Pointless, pathetic, obnoxious, and hopefully.....DONE!

My Beefs

For some reason JLo and Steven Tyler were kind of on my nerves last night.  This was the second week in a row that JLo had a little barb tossed Scotty's way.  It is way too late in the game to get a spine and try to start being critical.  And then the real bizarre moment of the night.......Steven Tyler saying that Haley's performance was God-like.  WHAT???????  Also, his criticism of Jacob and James, was off the wall.  For heaven's sake, try and get some kind  of consistentency going.  I can't believe I am saying it, but they need to pull themselves together.  What exactly is their feel???

As far as the performances on the night......
Scotty - STUN!  I loved it and would buy his CD.

James - The beginning of the song was BEAUTIFUL! When he ramped it up to his usual place I felt it lost something. For me, it is not a song to take that rockish of a turn. And he is having the feel of Adam Lambert with a scream in every song.

Lauren - Ok.  I loved her performance with Scotty.  She is good, just not the best.

Casey - Totally over him and feeling mild repulsion setting in.  He is just too full of himself.

Haley - She needed to have done something a little more poppin.  The whole thing was just Ok.

Jacob = What in the world was that outfit???  He is so done.  I just need him off of the show!

re cap

Jacob - Done. Pack your bags.

Lauren - Sang very well, but the song was a tad boring. LOVED her duet with Scotty though. She has a great voice.

Scotty - Love. Amazing performance.

Casey - Ehh. Wasn't that impressed. I still like him, but it was kind of a strange performance and it didn't do a lot for me. Might have earned himself a spot in the bottom 3.

Haley - I liked it. I always like her! Yet it wasn't fantastic, and she really needed it to be.

James - LOVED. Best performance of the night!!

Mom, I agree that it will come down to Scotty, James, and Lauren. I don't really care who wins either, I like them all. Bottom 3 should be Casey, Haley, and Jacob, with Jacob bursting into tears and going home. Bye bye.

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

JACOB IS DONE FOR SURE!!

Well other than Jacob (who is soooo done) tonights show was orbital in my opinion. Sooo entertaining. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Carol King and had her album and knew every song on it by heart...still do. Love it! Sooo as far as tonight goes...Jacob is just flat out done. He is a shoe in to go. SURELY it will be him. I LOVED LOVED LOVED Scotty's whole performance. He was orbital in my book. Just orbital. He could record that song tomorrow and it would do well I think. Lauren, was also very good in my opinion. I do love her voice and she continues to improve all the time. James went through the roof. What a stun he was tonight!! I LOVED IT!! There is just something sooo cute about him. Such a likeable guy. You just want him to do well, and of course win or not he will do well. Casey sang that really well too. But I am not seeing him as the idol. Super super talented however. And Haley...it was very good. But again for me she is not in the same "STAR" league as Scotty, James and Loren. Soooo I guess the bottom 3 for me would be Jacob, Casey and Haley. With Jacob hitting the road. Get ready for a bawling session.
At this point I don't care who wins. It will come down to I think Scotty, Lauren and James. I think Scotty should take it, but I don't care if James does. I really don't think Lauren should, but it wouldn't stun me for some reason, and again I don't really care. Makes it more relaxing that is for sure.

Saturday, April 23, 2011

Ahhhh....

The sweet sound of Stefano going home. Finally! Mom, I think you're right that I have a weird thing on him. For some reason that I can't quite put my finger on, I couldn't stand him from day one.

Jacob is such a slam dunk for going home next week it's not even funny. I practically don't even have to watch the performances to call that one. What will be weird is the week after that... because after Jacob's gone, I like everyone else on the show. Danae, I am SOOOO glad someone else likes Haley!! I have been majorly alone on that bandwagon. However, I think you're alone on your anti-Scotty feel. I love him! lol.

I am feeling a couple shockers coming on in the near future. Let's face it, none of us called Pia going home so early, and I am sure there's another big one up ahead.

Friday, April 22, 2011

Thank you Mel

For also likeing some of my likes. I LOVE Lauren (always have) and I really like Haley as well. I agree with Di, Lauren's probably a bit too young and not ready yet, but I think she's really good and I like how she acts as well. As someone said, a little silly and young, but I think that's her charm. and she is young.

Haley...I cannot understand the hate. I'll admit, her style is a bit diff with the growl, but I think she is quite talented and I enjoy her performance.

Speaking of performance, James is REALLY good. Like you Deb, he's not my type of music, but I ALWAYS enjoy his performance and I like him A LOT. My heart broke for him last night when Stefano went home.

I knew it would be Stefano, he's been on a tip for a while. Really a cute, nice guy...but something about him turns repulsive when he's singing and those veins pop out...too desperate and needy looking.

Jacob....SO over him though I can only express it here. Paul LOVES the man.....

Scotty...I was actually coming around to him after his performance on movie night....I LOVE that song and he sang it WELL. But...something about his attitude rubs me a little wrong for some reason. I'll admit, I think he's a really nice, respectful young man BUT I also think he's a little full of himself. How could he not be I guess? I just don't know. Career wise, he's probably the only one who's going to really go far. There is no denying his talent.

BY BY STEFANO...

Well Mel you got your wish....your hated Stefano is history. I can't say that I am sorry as it was just a matter of time of course, but I still don't know why you had him soo bad...But...another bites the dust. Only 6 left...this season has gone fast. I will officially remove Stefano from the side...

Di, I would have liked to see the bawling jag by Jacob, probably next week haha...

Scotty is a STUN!!!!

The judges last night were on some kind of a last ditch effort at having opinions, no matter how bizarre they were.  It seemed as if they were  random and totally inconsistent.

My feel on the night..............
Scotty - Stun beyond belief!  I loved everything about it!  The only bad part was that he was first and I did not have his performance to look forward to.
James - I loved it!  His voice and feel were perfect on that song.
Stefano - Good for him.
Haley - OK. I'm way over the growl. When she is actually on regular singing, she doesn't always hit all of the notes.
Lauren - I agree with both Deb and Mel on certain points.  I think she does have a future in country.  I just don't think she is that great now and last night was nothing spectacular.
Casey - Total agreement, Deb.  He thinks he is way better than he is.  There is something about him emotionally that is mildly repulsive.
Jacob - Bye-bye!  I am sure as he exits the show a hankie will be tightly clutched in his hand and tears will be streaming..........
Sorry mom, but I'm going to have to disagree with most of your post. I knew you would hate the music, you are so predictable!
I kind of agreed with the judges on Scotty. I love him, LOVE him, and he sang it very well... but really? THAT song? It was the ONLY song of the night that I've never heard. It was just kind of weird. As usual, I liked Haley. I LOVE that song she sang, and I actually thought she pulled it off well. I am entertained by her. I also love the song that James sang, and he did it very well. Loved his performance. I don't love the song that Casey picked, but I still love him and he had a good performance. I don't see him as being too weird at all.

Stefano and Jacob are definite bottom 3's tonight. Suck fest, both of them. Especially Stefano. Borderline repulsive and just not that great.

And here's the shocker coming from me, a big Lauren supporter... I just didn't think it was that great. She just... fell short. In my opinion. I still like her, but she needs to kick it up, several notches. I'd actually have her in the bottom 3, based on last nights performance.

My list goes Scotty, Casey, James, Lauren/Haley tied, Jacob, Stefano.

My prediction for who is packing tomorrow? Stefano. Good riddance.

LAUREN IS MAKING A COME BACK FOR ME!

Well for me I didn't really get the judges opinions tonight. I thought Scotty was head and shoulders above the rest. I LOVED LOVED LOVED his performance. I was not familiar with any of the songs tonight with the exception of Laurens and maybe that was why for me I just didn't like alot of them. Not that they didn't sing well, they just didn't entertain me. I am surprised I didn't know Scotty's song, but I didn't, and all I want to do is here it again...and again...and again. I REALLY liked it....OK, and now lets ses...James...it was pretty good I guess, but I just didn't really like the song or the feel. I like him, but for me it was just OK...Haley....she sang well, but again, yeah yeah was the way it struck me. Jacob....no...again only OK....Stefano...it was good, but again nothing over the top...Casey....I've decided I am over him...he is just too weird for me....And the surprise FOR ME is that I have swung into Lauren's camp. I think she as I have said all along has the potential to be HUGE, she just needs to grow up and mature and realize her own potential, connect more to the muic etc....but these last couple of weeks she has been downright good.....Sooooo, my order would be Scotty, Lauren, James, Casey, Haley, Stefano and Jacob....Meaning my bottom 3 are Haley,. Stefano and Jacob, with Jacob going home. Guess we will see....Did I mention I LOVED Scotty!!! I am going to go vote now....I am giving 5 to Scotty, and 2 to Lauren... ; )

FINALLY

Well at least America FINALLY got it right. It was just over for Paul. Maggie May was the only song he did that I really liked so at least for me he went out well. OH, and big shocker on JLo being the MOST beautiful woman in the world...duh....seriously SUCH a stun. And I have decided Lauren is getting better and better. Country is way more her thing than pop. Her performances with Scotty are REALLY good. And Jason Aldean and Kelly??? Orbital. So next week? I think it's got to be for me growler. She is just FULL of herself now. FULL...OF...HERSELF. Not attractive at all. And to think we have a stunner like Pia out, and her in. sigh...Oh well, guess we will see....

ANOTHER GREAT PERFORMANCE BY SCOTTY!!

Well, in spite of SEVERAL interruptions while trying to watch the show last night, I did FINALLY get it watched...Overall, again, a REALLY good show. I will agree with the judges that everyone is really VERY good, but in a very different way. Here are my thoughts on last night....Paul....a complete clown. While there are times I like his weird voice, I am totally over him. He should have gone home last week instead of Pia, but why go there again? He is just sooo done in my book. And that outfit? Oh my goodness, soo ridiculous. Lauren...was the best I have ever heard her last night. For me it was the VERY FIRST time she connected to a song and what a difference it made. She does have a good voice and like I have said all along she will eventually be a stun I think. Stefano....I also really liked his last night. He too connected well with the song for a switch, and again it helped him alot. But I think for him it is too little too late. He could easily go tonight. Scotty....completely orbital as always. I know you won't believe this, but before he came on when I found out what kind of music they were going to do I said to Jeff, "If Scotty is as smart as I think he is, he will sing I Cross My Heart from Pure Country" haha Can you stand it? I LOVED LOVED LOVED IT....He is just sooo good. Casey...I am not sure what in the world that was....Was his voice good in it? YES YES YES....Did I really like that song? NO NO NO....Not sure what the rest of America will think of that. Jacob....I do love his voice and he sang that song REALLY well, but I think he might be starting to become the deer in the headlights. He is probably almost done, if not already done. Haley....she sings good, I like her voice at times, but she pushes the gravely, sexy, "here I am people" feel WAY too much for me. I want to smack her. James...I don't like Heavy Metal even a little bit, and yet I liked that. I don't know what it is about that kid that I like, but I do, and I thought he was REALLY good last night. Sooo there you have it....I guess my bottom 3 would be Paul, Stefano, and Jacob. And hopefully going home.... Paul. Though it could be one of the other two and it wouldn't shock me. Let's just hope that it is not another mistake. ; )

WHAT WAS THAT???

Have already chewed this of course with Mel and with Danae but just have to say.....WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT??? Sooo ridiculous and annoying...I too am angry just like all the judges. It has just got to be everyone felt she was safe. She really does have one of the best voices in the competetion. I don't know if she should have actually won, but her being off and Paul, Stefano, Haley, Lauren and Jacob STILL on over her is just downrigt ridiculous....They need to come up with more ways to save. Why should the judges get only one save. Maybe it should be you can only be saved once, and then you are out no matter what....OR Mel suggested that America should get the right to save someone and if they get so many votes to save them in a set amount of time they are safe, and if not, they are out. Think we would have all voted to save her. Oh well, she will record and probably do just fine....it just enrages and annoys me soo....haha

A very important Post on the Snort Rail by John

I am sorry to mess with American Idol.

But a very important post was made by John on the snort rail.

As of today no one but Debbie has commented.

You should all jump on it. John is right on.

GREAT SHOW

Welp, it was ANOTHER really good show. They are all really talented I agree, so it comes down to who it is that entertains you best...And for me AGAIN it has got to be Scotty. I just love him...he was soo good tonight. Casey was also VERY VERY good, as was Pia..what a voice she has. Here is how I see the order of tonights performances....though it was tough....Scotty, Casey, Pia, James, Haley, Jacob, Lauren, Stefano and Paul...So guess that makes my bottom 3 Lauren, Stefano and Paul, and going home Paul...I think the 4 left standing eventually are going to be Scotty, Casey, Pia and James...guess time will tell.

What a Night!

The talent this year is positively incredible! What a great night of entertainment. I even liked Randy tonight....I'm serious. It's going to be really hard to see some of these people go, and I honestly couldn't tell you who I wanted to win. Maybe not even an order of favorites, they are all so good. Except poor Paul who will obviously go home tomorrow night.

Um hello!!!!

Just watched the Carrie Underwood/Steven Tyler video. STUN! I LOVE him!! And yes, Carrie looked darling! You could tell the whole crowd really got into it....and I wish I'd been there!

Mom

I officially agree with your ranking on the side bar, but I feel that Jacob Lusk is too high. Lauren should DEFINITELY be above him, and I have Haley above him as well.

Duh.

Thia & Naima, big shocker. They had already over stayed their welcome. Scotty & Lauren were so good! LOVED their performance! They had big shoes to fill, and they did a good job. Fantasia was so asinine that I was truly embarrassed for America that we picked her as a winner. What were we thinking??? She was a joke. A JOKE. And I usually like Jamie Foxx and Will I Am, but I fast forwarded through that dumb performance too. I found it hilarious that they didn't even allow Thia to have a solo during their Teenage Dream song. Hahaha. Very predictable bottom 3, but very necessary. I'm glad I will not have to watch Megia's annoying head anymore.

PREDICTABLE RESULTS

Well, I believe I called it, haha, though it wasn't really very hard now was it?? To tell you the truth I am VERY surprised that
America saw it the way I did for the bottom 3 and the 2 punted. I did again enjoy the show. Scotty & Lauren's song was a STUN!! Loved it!! It was the best I have personally ever heard Lauren...I don't remember Fantasia being quite that screechy. All in all....the way it should go. I will now remove the two punted from our sidebar. ; )

fantasia...the big suckfest

i feel bad that american idol has to admit that fantasia actually won a season of american idol...along with taylor hicks, ruben studdard and im gonna say it...kris allen...

good riddens on miley and bob marley...buh bye.

lauren needs to stop being a little cry baby...its american idol...everyones gonna leave at one point...theres only one winner...however, her fall down the stairs was quite possibly the best part of the show....i rewound to amuse myself....

Mel's judgements

I love Elton John, so naturally I loved the night. As Mike pointed out, they should have paid Elton however many millions he wanted and let him play the piano for everyone... imagine how good that would have been?? Maybe he'll stop by for tomorrows show... Anyway, my judgements: Scotty: Winner. Of the whole show. Love him. Naima, aka Africa: Craptastic. I don't like her feel at all. A joke. Pia: Love, love, love her voice. So much, that I can almost look beyond her somewhat boring performances. She's got to kick it up a notch, but her voice will carry her almost to the end, and possibly to the final two. Paul: Yawn. Kind of repulsive. Matter of time before he's packing his bags. Lauren: Great voice, liked it. I was actually kind of nervous for her with that song, and thought she pulled it off well. Thia Megia: Bye bye! Casey: Loved it! Jacob Lusk: Goober. Probably won't go home tomorrow, but he's a ticking time bomb. Stefano: I don't really know why, but I've decided I hate him. There's something repulsive about him. He has a nice little voice, but in my opinion he butchered that song. None of them are Elton John, but that just paled in comparison to the original and left me wondering how he's made it this far. Another ticking time bomb, and I wouldn't be the least bit sad to see him ejected tomorrow. Haley: Liked it. I don't know if I'd get on the judges bandwagon of "best performance of the night"... easy. But it was good, her voice is very unique, and I still like her. She just bought herself another week. James: Loved it. Very fun performance, highly entertaining. Judges: Seriously, kick it up a notch. I need a scathing comment, or at least a harsh critique. Their critiques are few and far between, and always followed by ten compliments. Come on, give me something here. Bottom 3 predictions - Paul or Stefano, Thia, and Naima... with Thia and Naima packing.

in my opinion...

my thoughts on this season so far. as i do have to point out ive only seen bits and pieces of the other shows so im probably going to annoy a few of u who have been watching since the beginning...theres nothing worse than having someone jump in halfway through the show calling things as they see it, but....HERE I AM!!! scotty-loved it. love his feel, and love his voice. have decided even if he goes out now we will prob still hear his song on country radio. weird reggae, dreadlock wannabe-crap. crap. crap. was wondering what her feel even was? and how she even made it into the top 11? NOT into the song, the reggae, her hair, or her...nope. stepheNO-boring. i wanted to fast forward my dvr to the next person...tiny dancer? really? your gonna pick that song, which im sorry, is a song where it should be HARD for u to not stick out, and make me wanna listen bc i love it, and i was just bored.... asian miley cyrus wannabe- poop...sounded nasaly, and just meh....too young. needs to go lauren- liked it...was into it, loved the song choice, and her....probably wont win, but thought she was cute, and liked her voice. dress choice? no.,..reminded me of ursula from little mermaid james- was def into it...if you can entertain me, im in...and i was def entertained...kinda all over the place and actually wasnt really even paying too much attention to his voice but i was lovin every minute of it. (mom-doesnt he look like kevin hynes? rob and ants friend???) pia- obviously her voice is a stun, there was no question about that, song choice was great too, but next american idol? im thinkin no. growling benny and the jets girl- i was into it...LOVE that elton song, could be my fav. thought she sang it well too, however phil and i both got a few chuckles on the way she moved around the stage, real gangly and doofus like...def not a great performer. compton man- im sorry, but..... IS AMERICAN IDOL DEAD SERIOUS?!?!?! I couldnt help but go from scared to histerics....phil of course wanted to immediatly fast forward...do i think he has a good voice? sure. is it bizzare as crap? most defintely. not only was i not into his voice, i really wasnt into him...or they way he performed...his eyes were shut the whole performance... whisper, bradly cooper(but not as funny, or good looking) look alike, boy- hated it...my worst performance of the night...found myself wondering how he was in the top 11 as well??? and i literally have no words for his outfit....none. casey-STUN. my fav of the night...loved every moment of it. love him, his voice, and his attitude...and the song was perf for him my bottom 3: stehpaNO...miley cyrus...and bob marley wannabe thank u and goodnight.

A GOOD SHOW....

This will be quick (I think) as I am tired, but I like to do this when it is fresh on my mind...I thought the whole show was VERY entertaining again. I love Elton John's music (who doesn't) so that was good right off. They ALL did really good, and some of them did better than I have ever heard them do, ala Haley and even Thia....But as usual my top choice of the night was Scotty. I LOVE his voice. I like the way he acts. He is just REALLY good in my humble opinion, and thoroughly entertains me. Then I had several others that I almost can't even put in an order....Pia, Casey, Jacob, James, and Stefano. They are ALL stuns....and as I look back on this list, it is probably my order for them as well. I did not like Paul tonight. I am over him...he bugs me in almost every way. Naima is a GIANT NOOOO for me. Just don't like her "thing"....Thia though tonight was the best I have ever heard her do, it just wasn't good enough and she should be going for sure. I am also VERY over Lauren. She "sounded" good tonight, but personally I don't think she connected with her song (I have NEVER seen her connect) and I thought she had silly grins going where she shouldn't have. She is just too young, and will probably eventually be a stun, but she is just not there in my book. Haley was surprising good tonight. I think it was because the song sooo suited her growling way of singing. She did it VERY well....but I am telling you that is all she's got. Here are my bottom 3.....Thia, Paul and Naima....though Lauren or Stefano in there would not surprise me either....going home?? Thia and Naima...my order for how I see them is on the side here... ; )

Current (2011) Hip Chart - Steven Tyler's nose dive

Apologize...

To John, I see now that you in fact have watched and commented on peoples performances. Although, it was in a weird "my comments" thing so it was hard to see. Still, my apologies.

A few things to address...

Number One: Chuck. First of all, quit writing posts only vaguely relating to American Idol. If you're not going to watch the show, get off the blog. Start watching, and maybe then we'll take your scathing posts more seriously. Number Two: Chuck's views on JLO. Fine, with all that evidence, she probably is a diva and a bitch. My thoughts on that? I. dont. care. So how's that? I like her. I like her as an actress, I like her as a singer, and I like her as a judge. As I said to you via text, I'd probably hate 98% of celebrities if I really knew them in real life. All I ask from celebs is that they entertain me. I don't care who they really are, what their political or religious views are, if they're gay or straight, if they're mean, nice, weird, etc. Now, I do have some celebs I hate for my own reasons that probably contradict everything I just said, and everyone is entitled to that. You obviously hate Jennifer Lopez, which is fine. Doesn't shock me, really. Her music is so far from your taste that it isn't even funny. But she HAS had a successful career, whether you think it's justified or not. Although, that "all white" thing in her room is so asinine it may have actually knocked her down a few points in my book. Anyway, I think your rant has fallen on deaf ears because I have a feeling Di, Danae, and mom are all going to be on my page. Start watching the show, then write all the scathing posts you want. Preferably about Thia Megia. Number 3: Casey's Save. Finally, we see the reason behind the Save option! What a shame it would have been if he had gone home. I see people breaking their necks to vote for him in the future to prevent such injustice from occurring again. I don't know if I had it quite to a Daughtry level (still not over that) but it was close. Number 4: Thia. If she doesn't go home next week, I may cry. She's turned into my most hated person.

Throwing cold water on the JLO parade...

I've noticed everyone seems to love JLO. I've had my ups and downs over the years with liking her and not liking her. Bottom line on her is that in real life she's a crappy person. She is notoriously difficult to deal with, and specifically it's the "little guy" type that she clashes with. Camera and makeup assistants, dressing room people, police officers, security people... there are dozens and dozens and dozens of stories that have come out over the years about her, everyone agrees she's just a raging b. She has outlandish demands for her dressing room... everything must be white, from the bottled water to the candles to the candy. There have been numerous times when entire concerts have been held up for hours because JLO refused to get dressed for the show because she noticed the particular brand of honey she wants for her dressing room was wrong. She fires assistants for the slightest things, including supposedly refusing to hire pretty girls as assistants because they take away attention from her. Many of them have gone on to say working for her was a living hell. One of her worse stories was abusing some cops... one time she was filming a movie and decided she just HAD to call her boyfriend, Puff Daddy. Her phone didn't have reception, so she walked up to a cop and demanded to use his phone, saying it was an emergency. She then proceeded to call Puff Daddy, talked to him for 15 to 20 minutes, talking about stupid crap. Eventually the cop asked her to end the call since it obviously wasn't an emergency was tying up a police line... she screamed and yelled at him and called him names, to the point where he had to threaten her with arrest to calm her down. There have been scores, hundreds of accounts of people who have said they've asked her for autographs and have not only been refused, but in many cases cussed at and asked to leave the room.

As for "singing" career, let's get a few things straight. Fact is, she's not a particularly successful singer. Her first couple of albums had a couple of minor hits, but since 2004 or so, her albums don't sell very well and quickly dropped off the charts. That's why she was dropped from her record label. The fact that she has had some success is an example of how someone who can spend money and attract attention can have, with a little talent and a little luck, a brief music career. She spent MILLIONS of dollars having those songs written and produced by the top hitmakers, and MILLIONS of dollars promoting them and advertising her albums. There was so much momentum in terms of dollars spent and promotion that an album of alley cats singing Christmas carols would have ended up selling enough copies to be considered a minor hit. As for the songs, I realize this is subjective, but I think they're crap, the serious music critics think it's crap, and the only people who liked them were kids who quickly moved on to the next big thing. Her "hits" are not treasured pop songs that are still remembered or played. The truth is, she was more in the realm of an Ashlee Simpson type of person, who briefly had a moderate run of success when the whole music biz was behind her, but is now very much a forgotten afterthought. She doesn't sing particularly well... though neither does someone like Britney Spears. But don't mistake her for a Britney, she was never even a shadow of that kind of success.

As for her film career... I will say I think she's not a horrible actress. In fact I've liked her at times. That having been said, again it's a case of all bark and no bite, all smoke and mirrors. She is NOT a movie star. She had a couple of very, very minor hits. Most of her movies lost tremendous amounts of money, in fact a couple of her movies were such spectacular money losers that they bankrupted producers and toppled the studios that released them, to the point where careers were destroyed. Jersey Girl and Gigli cost a combined 15o million to make, and earned back about a combined 5 million. Gigli in particular was one of the worst movies ever made according to many critics, and literally broke records for money losing films. Since 2004 or so they've stopped putting her in lead roles in movies because the simple, unarguable fact is that she's boxoffice poison. If she's in a minor, supporting role the movie has a chance, but if she's the star, no one is going to see the movie. Period. In the last five years she's appeared in six movies, and they all flopped bigtime. So no, she isn't a movie star by any means. What she is a person who was quite famous for a while so Hollywood decided to try and TURN her into a star, but it backfired bigtime.

She has done quite well in other aspects of her career, it must be said.

Bottom line is, she's not a good singer, was never a particularly successful singer either, she isn't a movie star, and she has a reputation as being one of the biggest megalomaniacs and meanest people in show business.

I can already hear everyone rushing to her defense, talking about how you never really know what someone is like, all the stories could be made up, etc. Truth is, stories about her being a spoiled brat started surfacing ten years ago, and they never stopped coming out with new tales of her being a problem. Where there's smoke there's usually fire, and in the case of JLO, there's metric tons of smoke, with sparks and the scent of charred wood everywhere, so there must be fire.

I also have always felt she is racist, I've seen it and heard it from her many times, and in VERY subtle ways I still see it on Idol. She doesn't like white people. She grew up poor in the Bronx, and she's part of that crowd that thinks white people are idiots and uncool and just totally unhip. Disagree with me if you will, but WATCH her in the coming weeks and see if you can see it. I bet you will.

PS

Please note the revised (and far more accurate) order to the contestants.

The Save That Made Sense!!

Wow, I cannot beleive how many posts there are! I'll have to go back and read them later. First, I have to chew this while it's fresh in my mind.....

Can you EVEN believe tonight happened? I'd say it was a Daughtry all over, but I still think Daughtry was even more assinine than Casey tonight. THOUGH, how ridiculous was that? Thia really needed to go home LONG before Casey. What it really equates to is, you cannot just vote for your top few favorites...you need to vote for the people you want to save. Funny thing is though, if I'm honest, I didn't vote for Casey last night and that's the first time since it's started that I haven't .... Regardless, he shouldn't have gone home.

ANYTHING can happen. What amazes me is how emotionally wrapped up in it I am. I was SICK when Thia sat down cause I KNEW Stefano was going. When the showed James wringing his hands waiting I wanted to bawl. For some reason I LOVE James. I cannot bear things going wrong for him. Even his BF Stefano going home.

Gotta wrap this up and read the others.....

SHOCKER!!

WOW!!! SHOCKER!!! I am soo glad that they saved him cuz America just flat out got that wrong....If he was off and Thia and Haley and Paul and Naimi and Lauren still were I just don't think I could have stood it. Sometimes I think people just assume someone is safe for sure and don't vote for them, ala Doughtry....who is responsible of course for American Idol coming up with the save in the first place. Bad part is now they have used it though. But they almost had to. I thought the guy was gonna pass out, haha...

As for the rest of the show....STUN....I LOVE Stevie Wonder, LOVE, LOVE Sugarland, and LOVE LOVE LOVE Jennifer Hudson...Hulk coming out was great too, and I kind of like the Mark Anthony feel. Just all around sooo entertaining.

And so next week, two will go....But I also like that all 11 of them get to go on tour...

My Views........

Really interesting to read everyone's views on the show so far.  I can see we are going to have some very different feelings about all of this and that is what makes this fun!  I agree, Deb, that everyone did pretty good last night.  I, too, loved Scotty's take on the song, but it was not his most stellar performance.  Several people are really stunning and I am not totally sure on who my ultimate pick for the winner will be. So far I have most enjoyed Scotty, James, and  Naimi.  They are the ones that I look forward to seeing perform the most.  I also really like Casey, Jacob and Pia.  It is obvious that they all three have stunning voices.  Stefano is really good, but I am not sure if he is my feel or not.  I don't think Paul's voice is strong enough to compete with the others. Lauren is good, but I don't think she is ready.  As for Thia and Haley....too much really good competition for them to be considered contenders.

I LOVE the judging this year.  JLo is a stun and is a chart topping star with all kinds of advice and tips for the contestants that really add to the  show.  Steven Tyler is hardly a loser by being  judge on the show.  He is a veteran performer and brings a lot to the table.  He and JLo have made a dying show relevant and much more interesting as far as I am concerned.  Personally, I do not miss Simon's pontificating and withering rants in the least.  As for Randy.........same as he ever was, just a few less "Yo's".

TONIGHT WAS A STUN ALL AROUND!

I will start by saying that tonights show was REALLY good in my opinion. I was thoroughly entertained by them all!! I love Motown music as everyone who knows me at all knows....and they all (even Thia who was probably the weakest) did well. That having been said I can honestly tell you I don't even know who I liked the best. Probably Scotty...though not because his was the best, but just because he put that country twist on a motown song and combined my two fav's and I just liked it. Plus I like that song. However, I thought Casey was great, Jacob a stun, James orbital, Pia a stagger, I even really like Paul and Naima tonight. She probably gave her best performance ever for her I thought. Thia is just too robotish....She squeels the Asian girl who has been trained to sing since she was young, and it is just what she does. Her voice is pretty, but that is where it ends...I don't think she is unique, doesn't really have star quality, and is therefore just kind of boring. I think she will go this week. I thought the weakest performance tonight was by Haley. She growls, screams and occasionally does sound good, but I am over her. Lauren was pretty good tonight too, as was Stephano....I don't even know how I would put it in order....I guess I will try....Now this is JUST for tonight's performances. It is not who I want to win (don't know yet) or who I think has the best voice etc. Just how I personally enjoyed their performances tonight.....1. Scotty, 2. Casey 3. James 4. Pia 5. Jacob 6. Stefano 7. Lauren 8. Naima 9. Paul 10. Thia 11. Haley

Beating a dead horse

TEN years of Idol, they're beginning to beat a dead horse. Just a tad.

As I've barely watched so far this year, I can't comment much on the singers. I did tune in a couple of times to see what I thought of the judges though...

1. Steven Tyler... I still think it's sad that he's doing this. 20, or 10, or even 5 years ago he was way too famous/successful to need this dog and pony show. But he got back on the drugs, wrecked his band, and is now on Idol. I can't comment too much on his judging style since I haven't seen too much yet, but from what I saw I agree with Mel, he seems too eager to say something nice to everyone. In my humble opinion, the only thing that ever made Idol entertaining for me to watch was Simon, whose withering, acidic remarks were always top-notch entertainment.

2. JLo... love her as an actress, hate her as a singer, and don't really get why she's even there. She can't sing worth crap, and judging by her own albums she seems to have horrid taste in music.

3. Randy... whatever.

As for Seacrest... or Seaworld, Seaweed, Tsunami or whatever his name is... I hate his guts and don't understand why he's there or what the point of him or his job is. I think the show would be alot better if they gave the judges the extra minute to talk and cut out the crap where Seacrest asks them his brilliant, cutting edge, brilliantly insightful questions... "So how do you think you did? Do you think that went well? So how did you prepare this week?" etc. He moves his lips and sounds come out but it adds nothing to the show, doesn't illustrate anything, and gives zero insight into anything. He may be the most pointless man on television.

The Moment You've All Been Waiting For...

MY thoughts on this seasons American Idol.

So far, my faves are: Pia, Lauren, Terets guy, Scotty Deep Voice, and Casey. Although Casey's butchering of the Nirvana song almost got him ejected from the list. Mom, the song is not "weird," it's great... you just have never heard the original. Casey killed it, and not in a good way.

Most hated: Thia Megia, and African Lady (Naimi? Naoime? African Lady suits her best.)

While she's not a favorite, I kind of like Haley and don't see why everyone hates her. Her voice is very unique and I like it. She was in the bottom three over poop Thia?? Ridiculous.

I felt that Karen's ejection was a tad premature, but it doesn't really matter since we all knew she wouldn't win anyway. And I was sick of her Spanish crap. It was fine the first time, good even, but did she have to whip into it every week? She drilled the nail in her own coffin there. No habla espanol, Karen.

JUDGES: I like JLo, she's a true professional and gives helpful tips. And always looks like a stun. I agree with dang near everything Randy says. Mom, I know you like Steven Tyler, but I personally think he's a bizarre judge. He rarely has anything helpful to say, and he almost always sings their praises, somewhat oddly, even when they don't deserve it. My least favorite. Stick to singing, Steven. I'll leave him a little room to redeem himself since I haven't been watching for long, but I doubt he will pull it off.

The bottom line is that Simon's absence has left a gaping hole in the heart of American Idol. The show will go on, people will still watch, it will still be good.... but it's not the same. I, for one, miss Simon.

We really need to get everyone back posting here.... I was reading back over our old ones and practically made myself sick from laughter.

RESULTS

Well can't say I was surpried....however, had she sung like she did tonight last night she probably wouldn't have gone. It was one of the best I have ever heard her do. I just think main stream America probably didn't like the Spanish and English flip flops either. I don't think it should have been her. Either Haley or mainly Naima should have gone first, though it doesn't really matter as none of them will be the winner anyway. However, I think only the top ten go on tour, so now Karen is out of it. Oh well, another bites the dust. I am now going to rearrange my fav's, removing Karen altogether, haha...

LOVE the Idol blog!

Good work Deb.

Last night wasn't as good as others. It amazes me how I can swing from one singer to another just based on one performance. Stefano was an absolute STUN last night in my opinion. You're right Deb, James wasn't what last week was, but how could it be?!! Pia was vocally a stun, but she's a bit....boring. I'll always love Lauren but again you're right Deb, her silly girl act is wearing thin, (even though I don't think it's an act)

Casey was out there, but I love him. How mortifying for Haley with the lipstick all over her face!
Spanish girl needs to go home, and Paul was....ok.

My prediction for bottom three: Thia, Spanish girl, and Haley.

SUM UP OF TONIGHTS SHOW....

Welp here goes....I didn't think tonight was quite as good as last week, HOWEVER there were some good performances...Here is my run down... My favorite of the night was Scotty (deep voice)...I just love his voice and that kind of music I think so he just draws me. I also like his personality and think he is just kind of cute. Then my next favorite was Casey as weird as that song was...and it WAS weird. Didn't really like it at all, but as usual I think he sang it REALLY well. I honestly think he is the most talented of the group. For me number three was Stefano. His voice is just a stun, and I love the song he did. I have liked him from the VERY beginning and was stunned when he wasn't voted in by America and had to come as a wild card. Plus he is just darling in looks and personality. Number four was James...not his best, but last weeks was hard to beat. I am REALLY starting to like his personality too. He is a VERY likeable guy. Then was Pia. Her's was good, but it wasn't as good (in my opinion) as her other's have been. It may have been that she didn't sound as good as Whitney singing that. But then remember, Whitney is probably my all time favorite singer. No one can touch her in my opinion (except of course Barbara Streisend)...Then was Jacob. His was REALLY good as always, but again, he has sounded better in the past. Next, was Paul. I have decided I DEFINITELY really like his voice, and as long as I don't have too look at him, it is even better. Lauren was probably next. But she was not as good as the judges gave her credit for I didn't think, and her whole air head silly girl thing is starting to wear thin. Next would be Thia...her voice was really good, but Randy was right, the song and performance were boring. Then, Karen (Spanish girl).... She sounded MUCH better than last week. Nothing great, but definitely improved. Then would be Haley (growler) Her's was OK...she is just too pitchy. Sometimes she sounds REALLY good, and others, she is WAY off. And bringing up the rear for me tonight was Naima. She just didn't sound good I didn't think. Both kind of screechy at times and pitchy. I think she is in the most danger. I see the bottom three as Haley, Thia or Karen (one or the other) and Naima....

It is STILL way too early to predict, and honestly I haven't really picked who I want yet. Pia, Casey, Scotty, James, Stefano, and Jacob are the top five contenders in my opinion. ; ) OH! And I think JLo is definitely the best judge the show has ever had. It is soo obvious that she both a singer and a performer that KNOWS what she is talking about and really gives everyone good tips.

Congrats Debbie You Did It

I will have to keep your mother off this blog until the week end. After she and Katie have seen the recordings

AMERICAN IDOL TIME AGAIN!!

I am soo looking forward to tonights show!! How I love it....It has two things I love most in a reality TV show..Singing a WIDE variety of music, and then MY crique of it, haha...I personally think this year will be one of the best as soo many of the contestants can sing sooo well. So welcome to the official idol chew blog again. Spread the word and maybe be can get the others to participate again. I thought it would be fun if week by week as someone is eliminated, we will take their pic off the side, lol. OH! And for now, they are listed in order of MY personal choices... ; ) ENJOY!!
