Really interesting to read everyone's views on the show so far. I can see we are going to have some very different feelings about all of this and that is what makes this fun! I agree, Deb, that everyone did pretty good last night. I, too, loved Scotty's take on the song, but it was not his most stellar performance. Several people are really stunning and I am not totally sure on who my ultimate pick for the winner will be. So far I have most enjoyed Scotty, James, and Naimi. They are the ones that I look forward to seeing perform the most. I also really like Casey, Jacob and Pia. It is obvious that they all three have stunning voices. Stefano is really good, but I am not sure if he is my feel or not. I don't think Paul's voice is strong enough to compete with the others. Lauren is good, but I don't think she is ready. As for Thia and Haley....too much really good competition for them to be considered contenders.
I LOVE the judging this year. JLo is a stun and is a chart topping star with all kinds of advice and tips for the contestants that really add to the show. Steven Tyler is hardly a loser by being judge on the show. He is a veteran performer and brings a lot to the table. He and JLo have made a dying show relevant and much more interesting as far as I am concerned. Personally, I do not miss Simon's pontificating and withering rants in the least. As for Randy.........same as he ever was, just a few less "Yo's".

I agree with you on JLo...she is just a stun!! And I love Steven Tyler for some reason, but I do think he is a little to passive. And for whatever reason I have always liked Randy, yo's and all, lol....I do miss Simon to a "small" degree. I usually always agreed with him on most and the rest seem to be afraid to call a spade a spade. However, I don't miss him just being an out and out ass, there was never any reason for it. I do feel the new judges have brought new life to AI, and I for one LOVE them. I do agree with you on Scotty, James, Pia, Jacob and Casey....ALL stuns, but I don't have Naimi in their league. I agree that Stefano is probably just not ready or Lauren either, but both of their voices are stuns. Paul's voice is different and I like it as long as I don't have to look at him...he will never win. And Thia and Haley are WAY WAY WAY out of their league, lol...So I think we agree on everything but Naimi...though she did actually sing REALLY well last night.
ReplyDeleteYou explained Simon perfectly...and Steven. I REALLY like him, but he needs to have a bit more constructive criticism. I think the problem is, he's just too nice and realizes that what the judges say, do seem to impact the voting response of the public.
